BSU visits Garden City!
As we kick off the first handful of murals, we’ve had the wonderful opportunity to connect with groups from around Boise. Today we were fortunate enough to connect with Amanda Ashley’s group of graduate students focused on “Public Art and Community Development.”
The class survey’s the use of art and design to remake urban space paying particular attention to the history and politics of placemaking and civic engagement. The class includes numerous site visits to areas around the Treasure Valley to help illuminate the multi-dimensional nature of placemaking and community development.
During the walk we explored 34th st Market near Push and Pour, Surel’s Place, Zion Art Glass, and Visionkit Studio while also discussing current and future murals. Check out the photos from our tour below!
